For car photography lovers, it’s great news to appreciate car photography at scene. On the occasion of the 39th international museum day, the exhibition co-host by Beijing Auto Museum and J Young Art USA -- Life on Wheels - Photography Exhibition of Chinese and American Automobile Culture -- will open on May 18th. Coinciding with “China – U.S Tourism Year”, it is designed in line with the theme of 2016 International Museum Day – Museums and Cultural Landscapes – aiming to play the role of a bridge to enhance the communication between China and America in automobile culture.
The exhibition contains 5 parts: the old miracle, the golden time of American automobile, the origin of modern life : auto culture, the charm of industrial art：auto art, and China on the move. Through the photography, it displays the development of American automobile culture and the modern auto life in China, demonstrating the unique charm of “auto life, auto culture and auto art”. The invention of automobile has greatly changed our modes of production and life. Today, “automobile” has become a necessity in our life. Its mechanized speed also accelerated our speed of changing the nature and society. Therefore, automobile’s development exactly witnessed the progress of human beings. The audience may take this opportunity to review the history of American auto culture, looking back how did this special culture spread into public life, enjoy its golden time, cope with the economic and oil crisis and finally find a way out by innovation. All these could provide reference to China in how to involve, share and give full play to all the factors in auto society to achieve the green, coordinated and innovative development of people, car, life and society.字
Apart from the 150 plus pieces of works of 5 international well-known photographic artists, Michael Furman, Jeffrey Jay Foxx, Harrod Blank, Christiana Dittmann, and Bruce L. Mclnnes, there are a large number of photos taken by Chinese shutterbugs at the exhibition. Since the 21st century, the automobile industry has greatly facilitated China’s economic development. The car lovers in China began to use cameras to interpret their understanding of car and record their life on wheels. Today, China has become a center of global automobile industry, building a big network of “people, car, life and society” in the country. Through photography at the exhibition, you may see how Chinese car lovers record and experience the huge social changes brought by car under their lens.
